The Journey of a New Wife

{May 27, 2011}   Hello world!

Welcome! This is a new experience for me, but I am going to do my best to keep up with blogging on a regular basis at the off-chance someone actually wants to read what I have to say. :)

Let me start off by saying that I am a new wife currently residing in the very busy town of Charlotte, NC. We our roughly 3-4 hours from any of our parents and it greatly helps us rely on one another. I tell him everything. I work in an eye clinic scheduling appointments (dull right?). My husband is a supervisor for Piedmont Airlines here at the Charlotte Douglass Airport. I am always willing to get to know more people and definitely accept advice from more experienced wives, cuz let me tell you it feels weird being called a wife at 22 years old! But, I love the man so what can I say! :)

So to get things off to a great start let me give you a quick run down …. :)

On Saturday May 21, 2011, I got married to the man of my dreams :)It was a wonderful ceremony on a gorgeous day! You could hear nothing more but the sound of the wind and waves crashing. I could not have asked for more :)

And of course I have to include photographic evidence :)

The reception was absolutely wonderful. My mother in law, with the help of many others, completely transformed the venue into a fairy tale. Yard after yard of tulle (190 yards to be exact)! Beautiful chair covers, glitter, candles, flowers, and just everything a girl could ask for on her wedding day!

I am still getting used to being a wife instead of a fiance or girlfriend but honestly we have been together for so long it feels as if really nothing has changed. Who would have thought that I would have met my soul mate on an online dating site! If you told me just a few years ago that I was going to meet a wonderful man and marry him before I turned 23 much less meet him online I would have told you that you are absolutely crazy. But, that is exactly what happened. In April of 2008 I joined a dating site called singlesnet.com. I met my husband not long after. We began dating long distance not long after :)

Matt and I have been through our ups and downs. We have been through break ups and points of not even speaking, but through it all we always ran back to one another. He is my rock and my lifeline. My reason for being.
I love his little quirks. I love how he can play pc games all day long. I love that we dont have to be connected 24/7. That we both respect that sometimes we need our down time. Most of all I love how he is always there for me. Like the time he dropped everything to drive me to Virginia when my dad was in the hospital even though he was out by the time we got there. I love that he was willing to spend Thanksgiving in a hospital room when my dad was in ICU. I love that he sat in the parking lot of Auto Zone until after 11 at night waiting on my car to get towed and let me go home to sleep cuz I had work the next morning. No matter what I know that when times get rough he will be there for me because he loves me and that’s what you do for the one you love.
Matthew is the most loyal, honest, trustworthy person I know. I trust him with my life and I could not have chosen a better man to spend it with. We are in this for the long hall and I am going to cherish every memory and every moment I am blessed enough to share with him. I want nothing more than to raise a family with him.
I don’t like us working opposing shifts (me in the morning and him at night), but it helps us have our own time to ourselves and to cherish the time we do have together even more. I love that he does not mind to do the dishes or the laundry or even changing the litter box (which I hate doing and only do if I have to).
Nothing makes me smile more than when he fixes me dinner after I have worked a long day when he is off work (even if it is as simple as hamburger helper) it shows me that I was on his mind and he cared enough to have dinner waiting for me.
I could probably go on and on for hours about what I love about him! Please come back for more updates as we begin our journey as husband and wife! I promise there are years worth of memorable moments ahead!
